About

Graft, the multilingual review of the Claremont Colleges.

接木, Greffe, Trenza, 접목, Enxerto

Graft is the multilingual review of the Claremont Colleges, dedicated to the beauty of linguistic plurality. In a world and digital landscape often dominated by a single tongue, Graft serves as a living response to monolingualism.

We publish creative and scholarly works in a vast array of languages—including Chinese, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese. Whether presented with or without English translations, these pieces exist side-by-side, fostering a community where "native" is a fluid term and every voice has a home. Our mission aligns with the Global Pomona Initiative and globalist efforts across the Claremont Colleges: to ensure that the diverse cultural identities of our student body are not just seen, but heard in their original forms.

Explore works of fiction, essays, poetry, and more in Chinese, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and more languages by Claremont students. Join us in celebrating the beauty of languages and the creativity of our multilingual voices.
